Documents and document data
For DATEV a document consists of two parts: the document image (the PDF) and the record data (the extracted values – date, amount, tax, contra account). Only both together save the tax firm from re-typing.
What is this for?
- Take document images from DocuWare or SAP Business One.
- Deliver the record data alongside instead of sending only the image.
- Use existing e-invoices as a data source – the values are already structured there.

How to set it up
- Define in the source which documents are handed over – through a condition in the mapping.
- Choose the matching DATEV channel per document type: incoming invoice book, outgoing invoice book or cash book.
- Where an e-invoice exists its values are used; otherwise they come from the source.
- Every document is validated before dispatch.
- After a successful dispatch the status is written back to the source so the document is not picked up again.
